Privacy policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
RackMon is a self-hosted product. The short version: the website does not track you, the product you install never phones home, there is nothing to buy, and the only data that reaches me is what you choose to send in a support message.
This website (rackmon.app)
- It is a static site. There are no advertising or analytics cookies and no third-party trackers.
- Your browser's local storage is used only to remember your theme (light/dark) and language preference. That never leaves your device.
- The server keeps standard web access logs (IP address, timestamp, page requested) for security and troubleshooting, retained for a short period.
The RackMon software you install
- RackMon runs on your infrastructure. Your monitoring data — devices, metrics, alerts, users — is stored in your database and never reaches me.
- The product does not phone home. The only optional outbound call is an update check (a plain request for a public version file) which is off by default and sends no information about your install.
- If you use the in-app support form, nothing is sent until you click send. What is sent, exactly: your message, the topic you picked, the email address to reply to (yours, or the one you type in the form), your role in the instance, your RackMon version and edition, and an instance identifier so two messages from the same install can be matched up. Not your monitoring data, not your device list.
There is nothing to buy
RackMon is free and MIT-licensed, so there is no checkout, no payment processor and no billing data. Until 1 November 2026 licences were sold through Lemon Squeezy; that is retired, and the order records from it have been deleted.
What I hold, and why
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Support messages you send, and the reply-to address with them | Answer your question |
| Version, edition and instance identifier sent with a support message | Reproduce your problem on the same version |
| Website access logs | Security and troubleshooting |
I do not sell your data and I do not share it, with one exception: support messages are delivered and answered by email through Resend, the email provider, strictly so that a reply reaches you.
Your rights
You can ask what I hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email rackmon.software@gmail.com and it is done.
